`The Dympep FamilyThis is my first attempt to create a web site. It came about as a student project in the "Introduction to FrontPage" class that I currently enrolled at The North Orange County Community College District School of Continuing Education in Anaheim campus. Ms. Melisa Esperza was the instructor. The teacher has assisted me to the extent that I can create this web site. I will begin to write about my family starting from my parents down to their grand children. I will also mention about our pets too. Dogs and cats primarily had been the integral part of our family as far back as I can remember. All the dogs had their own name. Somehow, cats did not. Only in recent years that I noticed we have names for cats too. We belong to a Khasi tribe in the state of Meghalaya in Northeast India. The population of the Khasis is about half a million strong. We observe matrilineal line of descent in the family in which lineage and ancestral property pass down from mother to daughter. We speak the Khasi language. The people are hard working, fun loving and love to sing. They are respectful of tradition yet open to new ideas. The Place: The Khasi Hills is often likened to Scotland for its topography, scenic beauty and vegetation. It presents a panorama of lush, rolling hills; heather-covered slopes; breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls; mountain springs; moving mists; silent lakes and a multitude of flora and fauna, including rare and unique species. On the whole, the climate is cool and temperate a year round. Our place is that rare hill-resort-country that is pleasure to visit at any time of the year.
